Summary:

An exciting opportunity for Control Systems Engineer has arisen to influence and shape the future of the Defence business in India. The roles involve working with business and external stakeholders to support the delivery of key programme milestones thus enabling the delivery of our Defence Combat strategy.

In this role, you will propose innovative, world-class solution for Controls system hardware that operate at the extremes of technology and deliver solutions that satisfy customer requirements by balancing product attributes. You will be working with multi-disciplinary teams consists of Fan/Compressors, Turbines, Combustor, Performance, Export Control, Tech Leads, Specialists etc.  Your solutions need to be cost-effective, align to project milestones and consider the full product lifecycle (such as manufacture, assembly, operation, repair, test and disposal).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating across Engineering Disciplines, including Controls system design and software development.
  • Ensuring design solutions are tolerant of the environment in which they operate.
  • Use systems engineering, robust design, optimisation, integration and innovative tools and processes to achieve the solutions.
  • Defining the physical and functional system, sub-systems, and components to meet customer requirements within weight, cost and quality criterions.
  • Having technical responsibility of the solutions throughout the technical approval process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering. Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.
  • Good understanding of Gas Turbine Engine and its sub-systems/product-systems.
  • Knowledge of key Controls component on the Gas-Turbines.
  • Experience of writing Controls hardware requirements.
  • Experience of working with flow-meters, fuel pump, oil pump, valves, servo-drive etc and integration of sensors (pressure, temperature etc) and actuators with controllers.
  • Experience of working with Controls system development and control & monitoring software development.
  • Experience of functional definition of harness and connectors.
  • Experience of preparation and execution of Controls hardware verification strategy.
  • Good to have experience of working on a test bed environment and hardware-in-loop testing.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and will need to be able to contribute effectively in a team environment.
