Position Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting quality improvement in production through final product audits, investigating quality issues brought forward by the line and determining departments responsible for the respective non-conformances.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform final product audits. This includes visual inspections using a Quality checklist.
- Investigate quality issues brought forward by production and determine which department is responsible for the respective non-conformances.
- Place Red-Tags on non-conforming products as needed to alert staff that they are not to be used in production.
- Create Quality Notifications in SAP to record non-conformances and assign actions to respective departments.
- Participate as a team member in problem solving exercises.
- Containment of products in the production facility and the yard when we are alerted to a quality problem. This includes systematically inspecting parts and products in these areas to see if they exhibit non-conformance. Red-Tags are used to identify products that do not conform.
- Provide accurate and timely data to management regarding quality concerns.
- Keep management abreast of progress, developments, and pending problems.
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
- Perform special projects as required
Basic Requirements:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Quality Engineering; or 2 years of quality experience in manufacturing industry with large equipment.
- Ability to work flexible hours or shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good ability to follow instructions to identify non-conformities.
- Good knowledge of mathematic principles.
- Strong knowledge of parts and equipment in a manufacturing environment with large equipment.
- Good and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of Quality tools, such as 8D’s.
- Basic knowledge of using measuring equipment.
- Self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
- Familiar with plant operations and equipment
- Knowledge of RRPS components and products
- Knowledge of gauge and test equipment
